What's waiting for you
İskele and Long Beach have changed more in the last decade than anywhere else on the island. The draw is simple: a very long, very shallow, golden beach, and resorts built right onto it.
One honest caveat before you book. Several of the biggest names here — Caesar Resort and Courtyard among them — are apartment resorts rather than conventional hotels. They are large, well kept and full of pools, but you are booking a serviced apartment, not a hotel room. Others, like The Arkın İskele, are hotels in the ordinary sense. It is worth knowing which you have chosen.
We cross on the eastern side and follow the coast road north through Boğaz. Beyond İskele the road empties out towards the Karpaz.
Why the exact address matters more here
İskele and Long Beach have grown faster than anywhere else on the island, and the growth is mostly apartments, residences and resort complexes strung along kilometres of coast. Many of them are new enough that signage is thin and the blocks look alike.
So on this route more than any other, "İskele" is not an address. Give us the complex name and block — Caesar Resort, Grand Sapphire, a specific tower — and the drop is at your door. Without it, the last five minutes of a ninety-minute journey become the slowest, usually at the worst possible hour.
The beach is the whole point
The draw is simple and genuine: a very long, very shallow, golden beach, with resorts built directly onto it. That shallow water is why the area fills with families — you can walk a long way out before it gets deep.
Practically, it also means there is not much of a town in the way most visitors expect. Restaurants and shops cluster around the resorts and along the main road rather than in an old centre, which is worth knowing before you plan to "walk into İskele" for dinner.
